Neurotoxin

Neurotoxins, like Botox® (botulinum toxin), are substances that temporarily block nerve signals to muscles. When injected, they prevent specific muscles from contracting, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Botox® is commonly used in cosmetic procedures to create a smoother, more youthful look by relaxing facial muscles, particularly around the forehead, eyes, and mouth.

In addition to aesthetic uses, neurotoxins are also utilized in medical settings to treat various conditions, such as chronic migraines, excessive sweating, TMJ, and muscle spasms. The effects of Botox® typically last for three to six months, after which repeat treatments are necessary to maintain the desired results. Overall, neurotoxins offer a versatile approach to both cosmetic enhancements and therapeutic interventions.

Jeuveau® (prabotulinumtoxinA) AKA newtox is a neuromodulator similar to Botox®, specifically designed for aesthetic use. It works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscles, which helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly on the forehead and around the eyes.

Approved by the FDA in 2019, Jeuveau® is marketed primarily for cosmetic purposes and is often seen as a more affordable option for those seeking non-surgical treatments. Like other neuromodulators, the effects of Jeuveau® typically last around three to six months, after which patients may require additional treatments to maintain their results.

Overall, Jeuveau® offers a popular option for individuals looking to achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance.
